If you are still running 32 bit applications, you should plan on budgeting for 64 bit replacements prior to upgrading to Catalina. You can review this list before choosing whether to cancel or continue with the installation. When upgrading to macOS Catalina, the installer will show a list of recently used applications that are 32 bit. The coulmn labeled 64 bit (Intel) shows “no” for any apps that are 32 bit. UW IT recommends waiting until the 10.15.2 update before upgrading and confirming that your applications will run on Catalina.īy design, 32 bit applications no longer run in 10.15. It is recommended not to upgrade to Catalina right away due to some fundamental changes in this release. Apple released macOS 10.15 Catalina last week.
